VN-Index advances on broad-based gains (VN-Index +1.95%)

    • The VN-Index opened lower than the previous session’s closing level, remained in negative territory for most of the morning session before recovering toward the midday break.
    • During the morning session, Securities sector attracted the strongest inflows, led by SSI (+6.96%), VIX (+6.72%), and VCI (+6.76%). Conversely, Retail was among the weakest-performing sectors. DMX (-2.57%) remained under selling pressure.
    • After sentiment improved toward the end of the morning session, buying momentum accelerated sharply in the afternoon, led by a strong rally in securities stocks. Foreign investors also reversed course in the afternoon and turned net buyers
    • Market breadth ended with 263 advancers, 40 decliners, and 75 unchanged stocks.
    • Market liquidity increased by 36.26% from the previous session to VND 18,356.34 billion. The VN-Index closed at 1,768.12 points (+1.95%).

VN30 rallies on broad-based buying (VN30 +2.16%)

    • The basket recorded 25 gainers, 2 decliners, and 3 unchanged stock.
    • SSI (+6.96%), VRE (+4.76%), and TCX (+3.80%) were the largest gainers.
    • On the flip side, only BSR (-0.56%) and VNM (-0.31%) were among the notable decliners.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • HDB (+1.68%) plans to issue up to USD 500 million in international bonds and list them on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), potentially becoming the first Vietnamese bank to do so, underscoring its growing access to global capital markets and ability to meet international standards.
    • The Securities sector rallied strongly today ahead of FTSE Russell’s expected announcement of the September 2026 FTSE Global Equity Index Series (FTSE GEIS) review results. The review is particularly significant for Vietnam as it comes ahead of the market’s official reclassification to Secondary Emerging Market status on September 21, 2026.
    • Foreign investors recorded net buying of VND 47.67 billion. SHB (+2.59%) attracted notable net foreign buying interest while no individual stock faced the strongest foreign selling pressure.
