VN-Index drops on broad selling pressure (VN-Index -0.31%)

- The VN-Index opened slightly higher than the previous session’s close, led by the Oil & Gas sector on rising crude oil prices.
- During the morning session, the index was weighed down by state-owned banks such as VCB (-1.03%), CTG (-1.74%), and BID (-0.83%), as well as the Retail sector.
- In the afternoon session, selling pressure spread across a broad range of stocks, including mid- and small-caps, expanding the losses. However, dip-buying activity emerged, allowing the index to narrow its decline towards the close.
- Market breadth ended with 97 advancers, 220 decliners, and 52 unchanged stocks.
- Market liquidity was nearly flat compared to the previous trading session at VND 14.9 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,726.69 points (-0.31%).

- HAG (-1.06%) subsidiary HGI announced its IPO plan and a 20,000-hectare coffee cultivation plan by 2030. The company is expected to list on UPCoM within this year and on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange next year.
- KDH (-1.69%) established a new company, Khang Phuc An Investment One-Member Limited Company, with a charter capital of VND 2.5 trillion to implement an urban renovation project in the Ma Lang and Cho Ga – Gao areas in Ho Chi Minh City, with a total investment of approximately VND 16.4 trillion.
- Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 711.2 billion. VIC (0.00%) and STB (-0.53%) faced the strongest foreign selling pressure, while no individual stock attracted notable net foreign buying interest.
