VN-Index extended its decline (VN-Index -0.66%)

    • VN-Index opened higher but quickly turned volatile after testing the 1,780-point resistance, as selling pressure emerged across Banking, Securities and Real Estate stocks.
    • During the morning session, broad-based selling pressure weighed on the market, particularly in Banking stocks, while VHM (+0.78%) helped cushion the benchmark despite weakness across other Vingroup-related names.
    • Selling pressure persisted into the afternoon, with weakness in large-cap stocks, particularly Vingroup-related names and Banks, dragging the benchmark lower into the close.
    • Market breadth ended with 107 advancers, 211 decliners, and 50 unchanged stocks.
    • Market liquidity declined 25.8% from the previous session to VND 15.1 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,764.78 points (-0.66%).

VN30 remained under pressure (VN30 -0.74%)

    • The basket recorded 3 gainers, 25 decliners and 2 unchanged stocks.
    • The only gainers were VHM (+0.78%), VNM (+0.68%) and FPT (+0.57%).
    • VRE (-4.35%) led the declines, followed by LPB (-1.89%), VIB (-1.69%) and MBB (-1.65%).

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • DMX (+2.50%) officially debuted on HOSE and closed at VND 82,000/share, above its IPO price of VND 80,000/share. The listing followed a successful IPO that raised more than VND 13.3 trillion, marking the beginning of the company’s next growth phase.
    • PNJ (-3.83%) announced an Extraordinary General Meeting in October 2026 to seek shareholder approval for revising its 2026 business plan, following a weak second-quarter performance impacted by a sharp increase in provisioning expenses.
    • Foreign investors recorded a net selling value of VND 109.59 billion. VIC (-0.55%) attracted the strongest net buying interest, while VHM (+0.78%), VPB (-1.37%), and PNJ (-3.83%) faced the largest net selling pressure.
