VN-Index remained under broad-based selling pressure (VN-Index -2.07%)

- The VN-Index opened firmly in negative territory, with losses broadening across the market.
- Selling pressure intensified toward the end of the morning session and was evident across most large-cap stocks. Meanwhile, a few isolated bright spots emerged in selected sectors, including PNJ (+3.40%) and VGT (+5.93%) in Consumer, as well as DXG (+5.99%) and NLG (+1.33%) in Real Estate.
- The afternoon session saw no meaningful recovery attempt, as the market continued to be weighed down by weakness in large-cap stocks.
- Market breadth ended with 67 advancers, 257 decliners, and 49 unchanged stocks.
- Market liquidity increased by 3.91% from the previous session to VND 19,394 billion. The VN-Index closed at 1,729.08 points (-2.07%).

- Continuing the trend from the previous session, the index came under pressure from Vingroup-related stocks, including VHM (-5.01%), VIC (-3.61%), VPL (-3.25%), and VRE (-2.64%). GVR (-4.44%) and BSR (-4.34%) also posted notable declines.
- Conversely, TCB (+0.95%) was the only constituent to close in positive territory, while VNM (+0.00) was unchanged.

- On August 12, 2026, the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the final results of the 21st administrative review (POR21) of the antidumping duty order on frozen pangasius fillets from Vietnam. ANV (-2.56%) received a final antidumping duty rate of USD 0.84/kg, while VHC (+0.55%) continued to enjoy a zero duty rate (USD 0/kg).
- After more than six months of trading on HOSE, HPA (-2.20%) was removed from the list of securities ineligible for margin trading. However, the stock is currently trading at nearly 30% below its reference price on its first trading day.
- Foreign investors recorded a net sold value of VND 874.51 billion. Stocks within the Vingroup ecosystem faced the strongest foreign selling pressure, notably VIC (-3.61%) and VHM (-5.01%), while no individual stock attracted significant net foreign buying interest.
