VN-Index edges up on Oil & Gas strength (VN-Index +0.26%)

- The VN-Index opened slightly higher than the previous session’s close, with gainers outnumbering decliners.
- During the morning session, the index trended upward with higher liquidity, led by Oil & Gas, Real Estate, and Financials – especially VIC (+1.01%) and GAS (+5.56%).
- In the afternoon session, liquidity was extremely low at the start but picked up quickly by the close. Apart from the strong Oil & Gas group, major sectors such as Banking, Securities, and Consumer Goods were relatively weak, especially TCB (-2.99%), LPB (-1.77%), and DMX (-1.78%).
- Market breadth ended with 129 advancers, 167 decliners, and 76 unchanged stocks.
- Market liquidity increased by 7.10% from the previous session to VND 14.8 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,732.02 points (+0.26%).
VN30 slips despite gains in Oil & Gas stocks (VN30 -0.08%)

- GAS (+5.56%), BSR (+4.62%), and GVR (+2.07%) posted gains of more than 2%.
- Conversely, TCB (-2.99%), LPB (-1.77%), and SSI (-1.52%) were among the notable decliners.

- Newly approved UPCoM newcomer Global Tanker JSC (GTX) saw its H1 2026 net profit surge tenfold compared to the same period to VND 180 billion driven by vessel liquidation, while planning a capital increase to VND 550 billion for fleet expansion.
- LPBank Securities – LPS (+ 6.00%) has officially listed over 1.4 billion shares on HOSE with a market capitalization of over VND 42,260 billion – one of the large-cap securities firms, riding on a record H1 2026 pre-tax profit of VND 718 billion while targeting a 160% profit surge for the full year.
- Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 838.40 billion, VIC (+1.01%) and VPB (+0.61%) faced the strongest foreign selling pressure, while no individual stock attracted notable net foreign buying interest.
