VN-Index extends gains above 1,740 points (VN-Index +2.35%)

    • VN-Index extended its recovery from the opening bell, briefly consolidating around the 1,720-point level before renewed buying pushed the index above 1,735 points by the end of the morning session.
    • Buying interest was broad-based across Financials, Information Technology, Energy, and Media stocks. Banking heavyweights, together with Vingroup-related stocks, led the gains, while rising oil prices supported strong performance in Oil and Gas names.
    • Buying momentum remained robust throughout the afternoon, with broad-based gains across most sectors led by Real Estate, Securities, Banking, and Retail stocks. Strong market breadth and improved liquidity helped the VN-Index close at 1,744.66 points, its biggest one-day gain since April 8.
    • Market breadth ended with 277 advancers, 58 decliners, and 33 unchanged stocks.
    • Market liquidity surged 41% from the previous session to VND 20.3 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,744.66 points (+2.35%).

VN30 advanced broadly (VN30 +2.01%)

    • The basket recorded 22 gainers, 1 decliner, and 1 unchanged stock.
    • VRE (+6.81%) led the gains, followed by VHM (+5.64%), BID (+5.08%), and MWG (+4.96%).
    • VJC (-1.04%) was the only decliner in the basket, while LPB (0.00%) closed unchanged.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • DPM (+1.96%) announced its 2026–2030 strategy, targeting annual revenue of over USD 1.1 billion by 2030 while expanding into chemicals and pursuing M&A. Separately, the company inaugurated a VND 30 billion fertilizer conveyor system (55 tons/hour) to enhance automation and logistics efficiency at its Phu My complex.
    • MWG (+4.96%) reported record 2Q2026 earnings, with net profit doubling YoY to VND 3.3 trillion on nearly 30% revenue growth. The strong results helped lift the stock nearly 5% during Thursday’s session.
    • Foreign investors recorded net buying of VND 683.8 billion, led by VIC (+0.27%), VNM (+2.00%), and MSN (+2.41%). Meanwhile, TCB (+3.17%) and ACB (+0.22%) recorded notable foreign net selling.
