VN-Index extended losses towards the close (VN-Index -1.70%)

    • The VN-Index opened on a positive note, supported by gains in Vingroup-related stocks.
    • During the morning session, large-cap stocks performed well while small- and mid-cap stocks declined; however, selling pressure gradually dominated, turning the index into negative territory.
    • In the afternoon session, VIC (-4.33%), which had previously been resilient, reversed sharply downward, leading to broader market losses. Meanwhile, VPL (+4.65%) posted notable gains, boosted by news of its inclusion in the FTSE Vietnam Index.
    • Market breadth ended with 84 advancers, 235 decliners, and 51 unchanged stocks.
    • Market liquidity increased by 3.0% from the previous session to VND 17.2 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,821.64 points (-1.70%).

VN30 underperformed on selling pressure (VN30 -1.10%)

    • The basket recorded 8 gainers and 22 decliners.
    • VIC (-4.33%) and TCB (-2.15%) fell by more than 2%.
    • On the upside, VPL (+4.65%), SSB (+2.29%), and VRE (+1.89%) were among the gainers.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • NKG (-0.47%) announced that it received a resignation letter from its Vice Chairman on September 4, 2026, due to personal reasons, and plans to proceed with dismissal procedures at the next Shareholders’ Meeting.
    • DMX (-3.85%) reported cumulative 8M2026 revenue of VND 87 trillion (+29% YoY), achieving approximately 71% of its full-year plan.
    • Foreign investors were net sellers of VND 466 billion. There were no particularly notable net-bought or net-sold stocks today.
