VN-Index extends losses amid broad-based selling (VN-Index -1.86%)

- The VN-Index opened lower and extended its decline as selling pressure quickly intensified.
- During the morning session, selling pressure intensified and broadened across the market. Most sectors declined, Chemicals and Oil & Gas remained a rare bright spot, led by DPM (-0.88%), BSR (+1.66%), PVD (+0.27%), and PVT (+1.61%).
- In the afternoon session, large-cap stocks extended their losses including VIC (-1.78%) and VHM (-1.50%). Meanwhile, Oil & Gas also lost momentum, with GAS reversing its morning gain to close down 2.01%.
- Market breadth ended with 51 advancers, 284 decliners, and 40 unchanged stocks.
- Market turnover increased by 25.03% from the previous session to VND 16,962 billion. The VN-Index closed at 1,795.21 points (-1.86%).
VN30 declines sharply on broad-based losses (VN30 -2.03%)

- The basket recorded 2 gainers, 28 decliners.
- SSB (+1.67%), BSR (+1.66%) were the only stocks to close higher.
- On the downside, GVR (-5.36%), TCX (-3.79%), and SSI (-3.33%) were among the notable decliners.

- REE’s (-1.21%) wholly owned subsidiary, REE Energy, registered to divest its entire 39.12% stake in Su Pan 2 Hydropower (SP2), equivalent to 8.07mn shares. The transaction is scheduled for September 14–30, after which REE Energy will no longer hold any stake in SP2.
- FPT (-2.42%) announced September 22 as the record date for a 10% bonus share issuance, equivalent to more than 171.4mn new shares. Upon completion, its charter capital is expected to increase from VND17.14tn to approximately VND18.86tn.
- Foreign investors recorded net sold of VND 834.19 billion. Only BSR (+1.66%) attracted notable foreign net buying, while STB (-0.90%), MBB (-1.74%), VPB (-2.00%) faced notable foreign net selling.
