VN-Index sees selling pressure late in the session (VN-Index -0.18%)

    • The VN-Index opened in positive territory, driven by gains in the oil & gas sector amid rising global oil prices.
    • In the morning session, despite gains in GAS (+1.54%) and BSR (+1.30%), upside momentum was capped as profit-taking pressure emerged after the initial buying wave. The index subsequently narrowed its gains toward the end of the morning session.
    • In the afternoon session, the market turned into negative territory due to broad declines in small- and mid-cap stocks, alongside weak performance in VIC (-0.76%) and VHM (-2.04%).
    • Market breadth ended with120 advancers, 190 decliners, and 60 unchanged stocks.
    • Market turnover increased by 2.80% from the previous session to VND 14.6 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,827.12 points (-0.18%).

VN30 trades choppily (VN30 -0.04%)

    • The basket recorded 15 gainers, 12 decliners, and 3 unchanged stock.
    • VHM (-2.04%), LPB (-1.73%), and SSB (-1.67%) were among the notable decliners.
    • On the upside, VPL (+4.12%) was the top gainer, followed by GAS (+1.54%) and TCB (+1.41%).

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • KAI (-14.00%), an online-focused securities firm, debuted on the UPCoM exchange today. The firm focuses on retail business, with an emphasis on margin lending and derivatives products.
    • DNP Water, a subsidiary of HUT (0.00%), announced plans to conduct an IPO starting in 2027 and list its shares once all requirements are met. The company currently invests in and operates water treatment plants and projects across 10 provinces and cities nationwide, with a total designed capacity of approximately 1 million m³/day, serving around 500,000 customers and 24 companies/projects.
    • Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 270.8 billion. VHM (-2.04%) saw the largest net selling, while HPG (+0.92%) recorded the highest net buying.
