VN-Index extends gains despite post-Fed caution (VN-Index +0.70%)

- The VN-Index opened with early volatility but quickly recovered, supported by gains in Banking, Securities, and Real estate stocks.
- During the morning session, buying momentum strengthened despite initial caution following the Fed’s rate hike. Securities, Banking, and Real estate stocks led the gains, helping the VN-Index briefly approach 1,828 points before easing slightly to close the morning at 1,824.93 points, up 14.82 points. Oil & Gas stocks were mixed as crude oil prices softened.
- In the afternoon session, the VN-Index extended its gains to an intraday high of 1,830.35 points before late selling pressure trimmed the advance. Weakness in Oil & Gas stocks, including PVS (-2.92%), PVT (-2.59%), PVD (-2.28%), and PLX (-1.05%), partly offset the broader market gains.
- Market breadth ended with 200 advancers, 114 decliners, and 63 unchanged stocks.
- Market turnover increased by approximately 21.4% from the previous session to VND 17.97 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,822.77 points (+0.70%).

- SSB (+4.92%), SSI (+2.92%), and MWG (+2.24%) were among the strongest gainers.

- PLX (-1.05%) completed the sale of nearly 23.3 million treasury shares at an average price of VND 36,252/share, raising approximately VND 844 billion. The transaction lifted the ownership of non-major shareholders to 11.05%, allowing Petrolimex to meet the minimum public-company ownership requirement.
- CRE (+1.75%) fully divested from Cen Partnership Management Co., thereby ending its indirect control over 17 subsidiaries operating mainly in real estate brokerage, consulting, and related services. The move extends Cen Land’s recent restructuring and divestment efforts amid weaker profitability.
- Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 348.19 billion. VHM (+0.42%), VIC (0.00%), VIX (+1.58%), and DMX (+1.20%) faced notable net foreign selling pressure, while HDB (+1.85%), MBB (+1.23%), FPT (+0.68%), and BSR (+0.33%) attracted net foreign buying interest.
