VN-Index declined sharply (VN-Index -0.82%)

    • The VN-Index opened under selling pressure, falling during the opening session, before gradually recovering toward the reference level.
    • In the morning session, the VN-Index fluctuated around the reference level amid weak liquidity and mixed blue-chip performance with Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Mining, and Food stocks outperforming, while Banking, Securities, Retail, and Real Estate faced selling pressure. Meanwhile, mid- and small-cap stocks showed relative strength, namely ANV (+6.88%), PVT (+4.63%), DBC (+2.96%), and PLX (+2.49%).
    • In the afternoon session, selling pressure intensified, particularly among Banking and Vingroup-related stocks, pushing the VN-Index deeper into negative territory. SHB (-6.94%), VHM (-3.38%), LPB (-3.21%), and VIC (-0.87%) weighed heavily on the market, while GAS (+4.59%) provided some support.
    • Market breadth ended almost balanced, with 122 advancers, 190 decliners, and 56 unchanged stocks.
    • Market turnover increased by 4.23% from the previous session to VND 15,883 billion. The VN-Index closed at 1,738.97 points (-0.82%).

VN30 declined amid widespread selling pressure (VN30 -0.91%)

    • The basket recorded 8 gainers and 21 decliners, and 1 unchanged stock.
    • GAS (+4.59%), VPL (+0.88%), and BSR (+0.79%) led the gains.
    • On the downside, SHB (-6.94%), VHM (-3.38%), and LPB (-3.21%) were the steepest decliners.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • DRH (-6.56%) faced trading suspension from October 12 after three consecutive floor-price sessions to October 7, reflecting mounting regulatory concerns over delayed financial disclosures. The stock also risks mandatory delisting if the company fails to submit its audited FY2025 financial statements by year-end 2026.
    • KSV (+10.00%) announced a 30% interim cash dividend for 2026 (VND3,000/share), with an estimated total payout of VND900bn. The record date is October 26, with payment scheduled for November 11. In 1H26, the company reported NPAT of VND2.43tn (approximately 3x YoY), while PBT exceeded its full-year target by 49%
    • Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 370.97 billion. TCB (-1.24%), HDB (-0.36%) and PNJ (-3.44%) faced notable net foreign selling pressure, while no stocks attracted notable net foreign buying interest.
