VN-Index extended losses as late-session selling intensified (VN-Index -1.09%)

- The VN-Index opened under selling pressure but staged a brief recovery in mid-morning trading, nearly returning to the reference level.
- During the morning session, the VN-Index has gain a modest liquidity compared to the previous session. VIC (-3.47%) was the main drag on the index, while other heavyweight stocks, including VHM (-0.15%), VCB (-0.69%), and BID (-1.39%), also weighed on the market. In contrast, MSN (+2.75%), SAB (+0.93%), HDB (+1.82%), and MWG (+0.28%) provided some support.
- In the afternoon session, selling pressure intensified and broadened across the market, pushing the VN-Index deeper into negative territory. Nevertheless, TCB (+1.38%) joined the leading gainers on strong liquidity, while HSL (+6.91%) and BFC (+6.94%) both hit their ceiling prices amid active trading.
- Market breadth ended with 110 advancers, 177 decliners, and 76 unchanged stocks.
- Market turnover increased by 0.81% from the previous session to VND 15,354 billion. The VN-Index closed at 1,749.30 points (-1.09%).

- TLG (+2.46%) drew attention as Kokuyo moved forward with its plan to acquire up to 65% of the company. The Japanese group approved a JPY28bn (~VND4.46tn) investment in Synergy Investing Asia, which will acquire 46.8% of TLG indirectly through Thiên Long An Thịnh, followed by a public tender offer for up to an additional 18.19%.
- PTB (+0.52%) moved to expand into industrial park development with the proposed Le Thanh International Border Gate Industrial Park in Gia Lai, carrying an estimated investment of over VND2.2tn and further diversifying its business portfolio.
- Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 38.09 billion. No stocks faced notable net foreign selling, while SBT (-0.66%) was the only stock to attract notable net foreign buying.
