VN-Index moves sideways amid wait-and-see attitude (VN-Index -0.06%)

    • The VN-Index opened flat as performance mixed across sectors.
    • During the morning session, Banking stocks declined while Vingroup-related stocks and Oil & Gas sector advanced, with BSR (+0.49%) posting gains in particular.
    • In the afternoon session, profit-taking pressure emerged, sending the index into negative territory to close the day lower. Trading activity remained muted throughout the day ahead of the FOMC meeting.
    • Market breadth ended with 116 advancers, 194 decliners, and 67 unchanged stocks.
    • Market turnover decreased by 11.4% from the previous session to VND 14.80 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,810.11 points (-0.06%).

VN30 maintains positive territory (VN30 +0.16%)

    • The basket 11 gainers, 16 decliners, and 3 unchanged stocks.
    • SSB (+6.94%) hit the ceiling price, followed by gains in GVR (+3.72%) and ACB (+2.26%).
    • On the downside, GAS (-2.19%), LPB (-2.00%), VPL (-1.64%), and BID (-1.22%) closed lower.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • PNJ (-1.21%) decided on a policy to shorten the payment deferral period for gold and diamond buybacks—which was previously up to 120 days across 5 installments—in order to improve liquidity amid a surge in customer buybacks.
    • HPG (-1.18%) invested in an electrification strategy by introducing a series of new-generation electric wheel loaders and electric tractor trucks to the Dung Quat Steel Complex, aiming for production greening and adaptation to strict domestic and international environmental standards.
    • Foreign investors recorded net buying of VND 233.60 billion. SBT (+0.00%) attracted notable net foreign buying, while VHM (-0.56%) faced the strongest net foreign selling pressure.
