VN-Index failed to sustain its recovery attempt (VN-Index -1.01%)
• VN-Index opened on a positive note, showing signs of recovery led by Banking and Securities stocks.
• Toward the end of the morning session, gains gradually narrowed, and the index remained only slightly above the reference level amid clear market divergence. Banking stocks provided support, while Real Estate and Securities weighed on the market.
• Banking stocks broadly reversed course in the afternoon session, causing the market to lose its earlier recovery momentum.
• Market breadth ended with 79 advancers, 258 decliners, and 37 unchanged stocks.
• Market liquidity increased slightly by 5.8% from the previous trading session to VND 14.6 trillion. VN-Index closed at 1,669.01 points (-1.01%).

VN30 declined moderately (VN30 -1.25%)
• The basket recorded 5 advancers, 24 decliners, and 1 unchanged stock.
• LPB (+3.05%) was the most notable gainer.
• On the downside, MWG (-6.91%) hit the floor price, while BID (-3.61%) and SSI (-3.51%) were among the steepest decliners.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights
• TCB (-1.22%) reported pre-tax profit of nearly VND 18.54 trillion in the first half of 2026 (+22.5% YoY). In the second quarter alone, pre-tax profit exceeded VND 9.67 trillion (+22.4% YoY) and marking the bank’s highest-ever quarterly profit.
• MSN (0.00%) announced record-high business results, with net profit in the second quarter and the first six months of 2026 reaching VND 3.8 trillion and VND 5.773 trillion, respectively, equivalent to 2.3 times and 2.2 times the levels recorded in the same periods last year.
• Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 752 billion today, although no individual stock saw a significant net buying or selling value.
