VN-Index remained under selling pressure (VN-Index -0.78%)

- VN-Index briefly moved into positive territory at the open before quickly coming under selling pressure.
- During the morning session, market breadth weakened as most sectors declined amid subdued liquidity. Oil & Gas stocks, including BSR (+2.78%), PLX (+1.20%), and OIL (+1.53%), were the only notable bright spot, outperforming the broader market and providing some support to the index.
- In the afternoon session, after falling sharply toward the 1,675-point level, the market’s decline moderated and losses narrowed as selling pressure at lower price levels largely subsided. However, decliners continued to dominate the market, preventing the VN-Index from staging a meaningful recovery.
- Market breadth ended with 88 advancers, 227 decliners, and 58 unchanged stocks.
- Market liquidity declined by 30.63% from the previous trading session to VND 13.8 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,686.11 points (-0.78%).

- The basket recorded 7 gainers, 20 decliners, and 3 unchanged stocks.
- BSR (+2.78%), STB (+2.08%), VNM (+1.90%), and TPB (+1.43%) recorded the strongest gains.
- On the downside, MWG (-4.90%), GVR (-3.32%), SSI (-3.18%), and FPT (-2.78%) posted the steepest declines.
Sectors and stocks daily highlights

- In Q2 2026, VNM (+1.90%) recorded a pre-tax profit of approximately VND 3,900 billion and a net profit after tax of VND 3,185 billion, representing YoY increases of 26% and 28%, respectively. This also marks the highest quarterly profit the company has ever achieved.
- Two pharmaceutical companies reported profit growth in Q2 2026. DHG (+0.70%) recorded net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company of VND 299 billion, up 26% YoY, while IMP (+0.00%) reported net profit of VND 94 billion, up 4% YoY.
- Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 1,364.33 billion. PNJ (-6.96%) faced the strongest net selling pressure, while no stocks recorded notable net buying.
