VN-Index gains on broad-based market rally (VN-Index +1.56%)

    • The VN-Index opened higher today, driven by gains in the Banking and Information Technology sectors.
    • During the morning session, FPT (+6.86%) surged significantly after a period of decline, leading the Information Technology sector. The Banking sector also traded solidly, supported by the government’s easing of lending regulations.
    • In the afternoon session, buying interest spread across a broad range of stocks, with mid- and small-cap stocks—which had previously been on a downward trend—showing notably strong gains.
    • Market breadth ended with 257 advancers, 76 decliners, and 43 unchanged stocks.
    • Market liquidity increased 1.6% from the previous session to VND 19.3 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,762.84 points (+1.56%).

VN30 jumps sharply (VN30 +2.44%)

    • The basket recorded 24 gainers, 5 decliners, and 1 unchanged stock.
    • FPT (+6.86%) surged to its upper limit price, followed by gains in MBB (+6.67%) and SSI (+4.25%).
    • MCH (-2.34%), VNM (-0.99%), and VIC (-0.51%) led the decline.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • YEG (+2.56%) reported a decline in Q2 2026 revenue and operating profit due to lower core business earnings and upfront investment. However, the company remained profitable by recognizing a financial gain of approximately VND 35 billion from the divestment of its subsidiary, Tstudio.
    • Ahead of its trading debut on Thursday, August 6, Dien May Xanh plans to pay a cash dividend of VND 4,000 per share. According to the plan, the record date to finalize the shareholder list is set for August 19, with payment scheduled for August 26.
    • Foreign investors recorded net buying of VND 1,061.3 billion. FPT (+6.86%), HPG (+3.92%), and VCB (+2.53%) recorded the highest foreign net buying, while NLG (-2.25%) faced the strongest net selling.
