VN-Index showed volatile movements (VN-Index +0.21%)

  • VN-Index started above the reference mark as buying demand slightly outweighed selling pressure across various sectors today.
  • Although the market rose significantly in the morning session with widespread buying across various stocks, selling pressure gradually became dominant.
  • In the afternoon session, although the gains in VIC led the market, the index narrowed its increase due to sudden selling pressure.
  • Market breadth included 134 winners, 189 losers and 56 unchanged.
  • Liquidity increased by 2.7% to VND 26.2 trillion.

VN30 weighed on the market (VN30 -0.26%)

  • The basket recorded 14 increasing stocks, 11 decreasing stocks and 5 staying the same.
  • DGC (-6.90%) hit the floor price, while STB (-6.36%) recorded a sharp decline.
  • GAS (+6.13%) and PLX (+6.13%) surged significantly, followed by gains in BID (+2.10%) and GVR (+2.10%).

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

  • MCH (+0.50%) announced that it has expanded its foreign ownership limit from 50% to 100%. Currently, foreign investors own 15.25% of the company’s shares.
  • GEE (+6.96%) hit the ceiling price, buoyed by the announcement of its plan for a 55% cash dividend and a 75% bonus issue (increase in share capital from equity) following its strong performance in 2025.
  • Foreign investors continued to net sell VND 2,542.7 billion today. Net selling was primarily concentrated in VIC (-0.14%), while MSN (-0.13%) was the most net bought stock.
