    • The market opened cautiously amid choppy trading and persistent selling pressure. The VN-Index hovered around the reference level before drifting lower as selling broadened across large-cap stocks.
    • During the morning session, the VN-Index extended its decline amid rising market turnover and heavy foreign net selling, particularly in PNJ (-6.87%). GVR (+0.00%) and MSN (-0.28%) provided some support during the session, while weakness across major Banking stocks and other large caps weighed on the index.
    • In the afternoon session, selling pressure remained broad, particularly across Banking, Financial Services, Industrials, and Energy stocks. TCB (-2.27%), STB (-2.70%), MBB (-2.30%), GEX (-3.58%), and GAS (-3.90%) were among the notable decliners, while VIC (+1.82%), HDB (+1.61%), and MSR (+5.60%) provided limited support.
    • Market breadth ended with 90 advancers, 216 decliners, and 50 unchanged stocks.
    • Market turnover increased by 24.89% from the previous session to VND 19.18 trillion. The VN-Index closed at 1,737.71 points (-0.66%).

VN30 also closed lower under broad pressure (VN30 -0.77%)

    • The basket recorded 5 gainers, 22 decliners, and 3 unchanged stocks.
    • VIC (+1.82%) and HDB (+1.61%) were among the notable gainers.
    • On the downside, LPB (-4.29%), SSB (-3.94%), and GAS (-3.90%) led the declines.

    • GAS (-3.90%): PV GAS continued its cooperation with Gazprom International in operating, developing, and optimizing gas production from the Hai Thach–Moc Tinh field cluster. Total gas output from the fields is expected to reach approximately 11.27 billion Sm³ during 2026–2039.
    • HDB (+1.61%) announced plans to issue shares for a 25% stock dividend and an additional 5% bonus share distribution from its reserve fund for charter capital supplementation. The ex-rights date is October 9, 2026, with the record date set for October 12, 2026.
    • Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 3,262.37 billion. PNJ (-6.87%) faced notable net foreign selling pressure, while no stocks recorded notable net foreign buying.

    • The VN-Index opened under selling pressure but staged a brief recovery in mid-morning trading, nearly returning to the reference level.
    • During the morning session, the VN-Index has gain a modest liquidity compared to the previous session. VIC (-3.47%) was the main drag on the index, while other heavyweight stocks, including VHM (-0.15%), VCB (-0.69%), and BID (-1.39%), also weighed on the market. In contrast, MSN (+2.75%), SAB (+0.93%), HDB (+1.82%), and MWG (+0.28%) provided some support.
    • In the afternoon session, selling pressure intensified and broadened across the market, pushing the VN-Index deeper into negative territory. Nevertheless, TCB (+1.38%) joined the leading gainers on strong liquidity, while HSL (+6.91%) and BFC (+6.94%) both hit their ceiling prices amid active trading.
    • Market breadth ended with 110 advancers, 177 decliners, and 76 unchanged stocks.
    • Market turnover increased by 0.81% from the previous session to VND 15,354 billion. The VN-Index closed at 1,749.30 points (-1.09%).

VN30 declined amid selling pressure (VN30 -0.85%)

    • The basket recorded 8 gainers, 20 decliners, and 2 unchanged stocks.
    • STB (-5.00%), LPB (-4.55%), and VIC (-3.47%) were the largest decliners.
    • On the other hand, MSN (+2.75%), HDB (+1.82%), TCB (+1.38%), and SAB (+0.93%) posted gains.

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

    • TLG (+2.46%) drew attention as Kokuyo moved forward with its plan to acquire up to 65% of the company. The Japanese group approved a JPY28bn (~VND4.46tn) investment in Synergy Investing Asia, which will acquire 46.8% of TLG indirectly through Thiên Long An Thịnh, followed by a public tender offer for up to an additional 18.19%.
    • PTB (+0.52%) moved to expand into industrial park development with the proposed Le Thanh International Border Gate Industrial Park in Gia Lai, carrying an estimated investment of over VND2.2tn and further diversifying its business portfolio.
    • Foreign investors recorded net selling of VND 38.09 billion. No stocks faced notable net foreign selling, while SBT (-0.66%) was the only stock to attract notable net foreign buying.
